Jointly responsible for whole work processes, performing multiple tasks, and setting staffing plans and production goals for the current day with other team members. Provides information to other team members during shift overlap to improve overall plant performance.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesOperate the packaging system monitoring overall performance, efficiency and quality.Perform equipment start-up, shut-down and preventive maintenance.Sample and monitor product quality coming off the system, making modifications as needed.Troubleshoot packaging system performance and quality problems, correcting them and stabilizing performance as they occur.Replenish materials ongoing as materials are depleted.Maintains production, efficiency and quality records related to the packaging system operation.Other duties as assigned. Previous production experience preferred. Experience with operating a computer (mouse and keyboard) preferred.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIESMust be flexible and have the ability to work overtime and cover other shifts, sometimes on short notice.COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTSPosition is relatively independent. Interacts with others in work unit. Limited interaction with vendors and/or visitors. Communication is mainly with other workers and plant leadership. Communication from position is primarily verbal. Written communication from position may include completing production sheets. Position includes participation in a team business meetings, which may include both verbal and written communication.Physical Requirements / Working ConditionsManufacturing. Regular standing, kneeling, bending, walking, and stooping.
