Vergennes Union Elementary School seeks an enthusiastic Elementary Art Teacher. Candidates should effectively model and instruct 21st century skills via the arts. The courses taught would be for all students K-5. The teacher will also have responsibility for organization and execution of art displays throughout the building and potentially beyond.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Ability to instruct art aligned to national standards across a variety of media, including but not limited to traditional media, new media, digital tools, and software, art history and humanities.* Foster development of personal creative expression, visual literacy and aesthetic awareness.* Ability to create fun and engaging project-based learning that is meaningful and relevant.* Strong communication and relationship building skills.* Enthusiasm and expertise to inspire and challenge students.* High level of personal organization and planning.* Strong instructional and classroom management skills.* Ability to choose and access artistic endeavors that serve to inspire authentically.* Understanding and demonstrable application of proficiency based teaching and learning.* Ability to positively contribute to an environment that responds to students’ academic, social, emotional, behavioral and physical needs.* Experience collaborating with colleagues in and across the discipline on curriculum, instruction and assessment.QUALIFICATIONS:Degree Preferred: Bachelor’s degree License: Vermont Professional Educator’s License with Art endorsement Experience: 3 yearsFTE: 1.0Start Date: August 19, 2024Contact: Matt DeBlois, mdeblois@anwsd.org Deadline: Open until filledOnly applications submitted through www.schoolspring.com will be considered.
