Job Title: Music Teacher (Private and Group Instruction)

Location: Verellen Music Academy - 3244 Walker Road, Unit 1, Windsor, Ontario N8W 3R8

Job Type: Part-time/Full-time

Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join our team, providing both private and group instruction to students of all ages and skill levels. Verellen Music Academy is the top music school in all of Windsor Essex, voted Best New Company of the Year! We believe learning music should be fun, and should be quality. If you are a dedicated, high-energy teacher, we want you to join our team! The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering long-term relationships with students, available on Saturdays and most weekdays (flexible schedule), and capable of delivering high-quality lessons that are engaging, interactive, and enjoyable.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide private and group music instruction to students, focusing on their individual learning needs and goals.
  • Develop personalized lesson plans tailored to each student's skill level, interests, and learning style.
  • Teach fundamental music techniques, including but not limited to instrument proficiency, music theory, sight-reading, and ear training.
  • Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment that motivates students to excel and grow as musicians.
  • Incorporate a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technology to enhance learning outcomes and keep lessons dynamic.
  • Prepare students for performances, recitals, auditions, and competitions as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians regarding progress, goals, and practice strategies.
  • Stay updated on current music education trends, methodologies, and repertoire.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience teaching music to students of diverse ages and skill levels, both privately and in group settings.
  • Proficiency in at least one musical instrument (piano, voice, guitar, violin, etc.), with ability to teach multiple, ideally, and a strong knowledge of music theory and notation.
  • Ability to inspire and engage students through creative and interactive teaching methods!
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Flexible availability, including Saturdays and most weekdays (schedule flexibility negotiable).
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development and a commitment to fostering a lifelong love of music in students.
  • Prior experience with curriculum development, performance coaching, or music therapy is a plus.
