Verbio is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven, Maintenance Manager, for its production facility in South Bend, IN.

About Verbio
Verbio acquired South Bend Ethanol, LLC, an operating ethanol plant located in South Bend, Indiana. As a global leader in the renewable energy industry, this will be Verbio’s second US production facility following the successful commissioning of its Nevada, IA plant. The site will be developed over the next three years incorporating Verbio’s advanced engineering and operating technology practices. Verbio intends to expand and develop the plant into a modern biorefinery at an estimated total investment of $230 million.

Integration of the ethanol production with the RNG production process, unique to the Verbio brand and developed successfully at the company`s facilities in Europe over the past decade, will result in higher efficiencies and improved sustainability. Following commissioning, the production capacity of the plant will be at 85 million gallons of corn ethanol and 2.8 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of RNG per year.
Position Purpose

The Maintenance Manager is a member of the Plant Leadership Team and is responsible for overall direction of all aspects of the maintenance of the facility including safety, reliability, mechanical integrity, capital project management, and planning and scheduling needs.

The role is responsible for managing installations and the repair and upkeep operations of the facility. These duties include maintaining machinery, planning repair activities, and developing preventive maintenance procedures and programs including shutdowns and the direction and development of departmental staff.

Essential Functions :

• Provide leadership, vision and long-term strategy to the Maintenance Department including safety, reliability, mechanical integrity, capital project management, planning and scheduling, and facilities infrastructure.
  
• Create and promote an environment that achieves EHS metrics and requirements and fully s upports EHS activities and initiatives.
  
• Responsible for the overall effectiveness of the mechanical, instrumentation and electrical maintenance functions, along with contract support.
  
• Promote a team atmosphere and strong culture of plant ownership. Build a great place to work where all employees are engaged.
  
• Manage the plant Maintenance/Reliability Metrics and develop and execute plans to improve the Key Performance Indicators.
  
• Provide leadership and resources to identify and address problem assets affecting the cost to manufacture through organized problem-solving activities. Drive root cause identification and analysis for maintenance-related failures and identify opportunities to improve.
  
• Work collaboratively with operations and other functions to plan and coordinate plant maintenance to maximize equipment availability and production at the most effective cost.
  
• Accountable for budgeting and cost control in relation to maintenance activities, including storeroom inventory.
  
• Establish, communicate, and sustain high standards for facility housekeeping and order.
  
• Assist with operations and maintenance training and qualification programs.
  
• Maintains and optimizes the plant CMMS system.
  
• Prepares accurate plant documentation, to assure proper historical records and reporting of timely and accurate plant maintenance.
• Make expeditious appropriate decisions to non-routine plant conditions.
• Provides emergency 24-hour on-call emergency support, as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  
• 10 years of experience and maintenance management in a refinery/chemical plant
  
• High-level of understanding of the technical features of mechanical and electrical systems
  
• Proficient in CMMS programs
