Dayton is currently seeking a Wastewater Operator to work in the Philadelphia/Morrisville Pennsylvania area.This position is responsible for the routine operation and monitoring of a wastewater treatment plant in response to the daily guidance and direction of the Lead Operators and Operations Manager. This position will be responsible for performing all work in compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations applicable to the site.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Understand and follow all safety, health, and environmental requirementsPerform all duties as assigned by the Lead Operator and Operations Manager including, but not limited to: Operation of wastewater and sludge dewatering equipment Monitor wastewater treatment processes for effectiveness Complete daily log and required forms clearly and consistentlyCollect and analyze samples using basic laboratory techniques Interpret lab and monitoring data to determine system operation and compliance with discharge permitMake chemical feed rate changes based on jar testing, flows, and pollutant concentrationsPerform equipment cleanings and general maintenanceReceive bulk chemical deliveries and use forklift to unload totes and drums Maintain a clean and organized work environment Recognize and report operating anomalies immediately to the Lead OperatorQualificationsEducation and Experience Requirements:High school diploma or GED At least two (2) years of biological wastewater operational experience (activated sludge or SBR experience preferred) or promotion from WasteWaterTechnician Forklift license required to be obtained within the first 3 months of employment.
