Venus By Mars Cosmetic Plastic Surgery Center is Hiring a DIRECTOR OF NURSING Near Tucson, AZ

POSITION GOAL: The primary purpose of this position is to provide all aspects of patient care in the Surgery Center. This role requires a comprehensive knowledge of all licensing guidelines, regulations and standards. Additionally, ensures they are followed and maintained, according to the State of Arizona Department of Healthcare Services (ADHS). Develops and implements written nursing and patient care policies and procedures. Communicates effectively and has strong written and verbal communication skills. Excels at relationship building and has strong leadership skills. This position requires a quick learner with proficient problem solving and critical thinking skills. Maintains high standards of care for all patients.

Supervises, trains and evaluates all nursing staff and surgical technicians. Develops strong relationships with patients and their families and has excellent bedside manner. Ensures the facility is staffed based on the number of patients and their healthcare needs. To assist with all entities in OR suite: Admit surgical patients, circulate surgical cases, admits, recovers and discharges post anesthesia surgical patients from PACU. Assists with local, anxiolysis and moderate sedation surgeries.

Leads daily operations of La Paloma Surgery Center (LPSC), including but not limited to: Scheduled maintenance of equipment and contractual agreements with ancillary services. Maintains stocked inventory. Maintains all logs as required by ADHS. Assumes and maintains roles of Infection Control Specialist and Employee Health Nurse. Maintains credentialing records of physicians contracted to provide care at LPSC. Designs and manages continuous quality and performance improvement initiatives in accordance with ADHS requirements for licensing.

QUALIFICATIONS: Requirements necessary for a successful performance in this position are current unrestricted licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Arizona, with a current CPR and ACLS certification. The ability to deliver high quality and proficient nursing care. Must have at least two years of operating room and post operative anesthesia recovery experience. Training and certification as Infection Control Specialist preferred. Two years of supervisory or leadership experience in a Perioperative setting, preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Develops, implements, and maintains written nursing and patient care policies and procedures.

● Schedule all personnel for the operating room and recovery room based on the number of patients and their healthcare needs.

● Design and implement performance improvement activities. Including quarterly board meetings, peer auditing and chart auditing.

● Provides ongoing annual and quarterly education classes and in-services. Performs quarterly emergency disaster and fire drills for staff.

● Communicates with ADHS of LPSC’s hours of operation, closures, and changes of surgical days. Appoints a registered nurse, in writing, to act in the D.O.N.’s absence.

● Prepares for, and escorts ADHS regulatory audit surveyors during compliance visits.

● Has knowledge of all paperwork required by law and by our practice for any surgery or procedures performed.

● Maintains up to date credentialing files on all healthcare providers working in the facility.

● Assists with all entities in OR suite: Admit surgical patients, circulate surgical cases, recover and discharge post anesthesia surgical patients from PACU. Assists with local, anxiolysis and moderate sedation surgeries. Provides patients with appropriate preoperative and post-operative teaching and instructions. Records all patient/nursing activity in the patient's medical record.

● Performs ordering of narcotics and record keeping of all narcotic documents as required by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

● Maintains stocked inventory and places all orders for LPSC.

● Follows all policies and procedures regarding operating room log books and record keeping, such as specimen logs and audits, implant log maintenance.

Salary is based upon experience.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
