This position has a typical work schedule of Monday – Friday 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm. In addition, if selected for the position, you will be working with adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

This is a salaried, exempt position: $62,000/year

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Clinician reports to the Vice President of Clinical & Behavioral Services and is responsible for providing the highest quality mental health and support services to the people supported by Venture Day and Residential programs. This position is closely involved with program participants, families, staff, and management. This is a salaried, exempt position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Integrated Assessment and Evaluation:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health needs, developmental profiles, trauma histories, and behavioral concerns.

• Utilize trauma-informed assessment tools, ABA techniques, and clinical interviews to gather relevant information.

• Develop integrated treatment plans that address trauma-related symptoms, behavioral challenges, and mental health goals, incorporating ABA strategies as appropriate.

Counseling and Psychotherapy with Trauma-Informed Approach:

• Provide trauma-informed counseling and psychotherapy services to individuals, families, and groups, integrating ABA principles to address behavioral and emotional issues.

• Implement evidence-based trauma interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based techniques, and sensory integration strategies.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Interventions:

• Design and implement ABA programs to address socially inappropriate behaviors, promote emotional regulation, and enhance coping skills.

• Conduct functional assessments with sensitivity to trauma triggers and environmental cues, ensuring a trauma-sensitive approach to behavior management.

• Utilize data collection methods to monitor progress, assess treatment effectiveness, and adjust interventions as needed.

Collaboration and Consultation:

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including but not limited to the Department of Developmental Services, Department of Children and Families, school systems and internal agency meetings.

• Initiate recommendations for additional clinical, psychological, forensic evaluation, therapy, and other outside assessments as needed.

• Provide trauma-informed consultation and training to caregivers, support staff and other professionals on supporting individuals affected by trauma.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including trauma-informed assessments, progress notes, and trauma treatment plans.

• Ensure compliance with ethical standards, legal regulations, and trauma-informed care principles in documentation practices.

• Prepare clear and concise written reports for treatment reviews, insurance purposes, and interdisciplinary communication.

• Utilize iCentrix and HCSIS platforms to enter clinical documents.

MARGINAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Attend outside Agency meetings as requested by the Vice President of Clinical & Behavioral Services.

· Attend trainings to further develop clinical skills/knowledge as needed to remain current. 

· Travel is required to various program sites. 

· Perform other functions as assigned by supervisor

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

· Effective written and verbal communication skills.

· Proficient skills in Microsoft Office and database software. 

· Must be effective in interfacing with professionals in community and contracting agencies.

· Excellent interpersonal skills.

· Ability to function independently with minimum direct supervision.

Requirements

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position: Knowledge of child welfare, adolescent development, behavior management, parenting issues, individual/family psychotherapy, DSM-V and best practices in mental health.

· Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Social Work or other related field.

· Experience providing services to individuals with autism and/or intellectual disabilities.

· Current licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) or Licensed Applied Behavior analyst (LABA) preferred but not required.

· Strong understanding of trauma dynamics, resilience factors, and trauma-sensitive approaches.

· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse clients and interdisciplinary teams.

· Must be 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, daily use of a car on site and be available by telephone for daily contact.
