Venture Community Services is Hiring an Information Technology Specialist Near Sturbridge, MA

$1500 Sign on Bonus

$28 -$30 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am to 4pm - Some nights and weekends as needed for emergencies.

Venture Community Services is looking to fill a Full Time Information Technology Specialist position. We are interested in talking to anyone with IT experience someone with a experience troubleshooting and programming with routers, switches, Sonic Walls, and V-LANS is a plus. Venture community Services is a large Human Services agency with multiple residential and office properties across Massachusetts. The ideal candidate must be willing to travel to various locations as needed and have flexible availability with a willingness to work varying hours as needed.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The IT Specialist reports to the Director of IT and provides hardware and software maintenance, training and consultation, and recommendations about future planning and development of resources. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide orientation and training to existing and new users of technologies (applications, new resources, etc.)
  • Provide ongoing recommendations and process analysis for greater efficiency on IT support functions
  • Provide ongoing IT customer support to all Agency locations
  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources
  • Set up new hires with necessary accounts, access, software, workstations and other hardware as needed
  • Reset email account passwords
  • Management of third-party vendors (toner usage and purchasing)
  • Frequent and ongoing physical inspection/cleaning/maintenance of equipment for all Venture locations
  • Troubleshoot all issues for workstations, printers, and other tech as needed
  • Respond in timely manner to IT tickets providing best in class customer service
  • Make recommendations for purchases of technology resources
  • Research current and potential resources and services
  • Image and deploy workstations
  • Travel to other locations as needed
  • Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate
  • Assist other IT staff on daily work and or projects as needed, other duties as assigned

MARGINAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Attendance at meetings as needed.
  • Observe all Agency policies and procedures.
  • Complete annual required trainings.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Maintain CPR & AED Certifications
  • Organized, dependable and even temperament, good phone manner
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to switch from task to task (flexible) during the work day
  • Maintain a positive demeanor while successfully managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Good communications and demonstrated people skills to develop positive relationships. Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively present and explain technical information.
  • Resourceful, figure-it-out-and-get-it-done mentality. Strong problem solving & deductive reasoning skills. Must be quick to learn new technologies, concepts, and methods and must embrace challenges and continually seek improvements.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to bend, lift (minimum of 30 pounds), stoop and reach

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2 years’ experience working as an Information Technology Specialist or comparable role.
  • Industry certificates highly preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting and programming with routers, switches, Sonic Walls, V-LANS.
  • Experience using, supporting and troubleshooting various Windows products.
  • Experience in supporting 24x7 IT operations preferred.
  • Must be 21 years old, have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, daily use of a car on site and be available by telephone for daily contact.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
