Vendr is Hiring a Remote Staff Product Designer, Activation/PLG

Vendr is a fast-moving startup building a free, consumer-grade B2B platform that finance and procurement leaders turn to when looking to control SaaS costs. As the ideal candidate, you have deep experience in product led growth tactics, have a strong sense of visual design, look to deliver delight in each and every interaction, and are an expert when it comes to UX best practices. You also love running in hyper-accelerated cycles, and are excited about capitalizing on daily PLG funnel metrics and FullStory sessions that will lead to improved conversion rates.
As the product designer for our Activation team, you will be directly responsible for ensuring that hundreds of freemium prospects activate within our platform and expand usage throughout their organization. You are squarely focused on reducing time to value by driving users to that “Aha!” moment as quickly as possible. You love metrics and are data-driven. You refuse to deliver anything less than highly polished, consumer-grade experiences. Finally, you are a scientist at heart: creating hypotheses, running experiments, evaluating results, then doing it all over again.
Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in Product Design
  • At least 4 years product led growth experience in a fast-paced start-up
  • Experience in a high-growth B2B SaaS start-up (Series A or Series B) is required

Exceptional visual design and UX skills, with a strong portfolio showcasing metric success in product led growth. Deep familiarity with onboarding best practices, activation tactics, lifecycle nurturing, rapid experimentation, and growth loops is a must.

  • Startup experience, with a proven track record of delivering successful product designs in an extremely fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making. 
  • Experience collaborating tightly with marketing on holistic user journeys
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Incredibly strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Bonus points for any UX certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Product design: Create elegant, intuitive experiences that align with best practices, deliver unexpected delight, and ultimately lead to measurable customer impact.
  • Design strategy: Understand our corporate mission, the competitive landscape, the gaps and opportunities in our product experience, and assess emergent opportunities around UX.
  • Design systems: Defend and champion our design guidelines, evolve best practices and standards, and help drive Vendr’s design system forward at a tactical level.
  • UX research: Personally initiate and conduct research projects to help evaluate product designs, build foundational knowledge, understand JTBD, and define user journeys.
  • Design critiques: Contribute to a process where Product Designers across pods can share current projects in a way that brings visibility and invites stakeholder feedback.
  • Product expertise: Establish and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Vendr’s entire platform in order to identify, propose, and help direct product and UX improvements. Be capable of expertly providing product demonstrations to customers and internal teams.
  • Process adherence: Ensure that you are well-integrated into the established design process, following our standards with a high attention to detail. Advocate for changes that help PMs, engineers, and UX work together to efficiently deliver an exceptional experience.
  • Customer obsession: Directly participate in customer and prospect calls to keep a pulse on sentiment, and to help identify and prioritize opportunities. Watch FullStory obsessively.
  • UX evangelism: Ensure UX processes are prioritized and valued to by working with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for better cross-functional collaboration
