Description

Responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems. Serves as a technical expert in the area of network administration for complex on-premise and cloud applications. Recommends the redesign and configuration of network systems and network applications and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service to the customers of the department.

Requirements

• Design, develop, and document virtual and physical network systems working with end users, consults end vendors.
• Develop new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability.
• Ensure that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained. Apply revisions to host systems firmware and software.
• Perform troubleshooting as required. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel.
• Document all network processes and procedures to ensure consistent reliability and security of all electronic data.
• Ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical network resources.
• Develops procedures, programs and documentation for backup and restoration of host and cloud based systems,
• Develop documentation and procedures for troubleshooting common end user problems.
• Stays current with technological developments in network administration technology and recommends ways to take advantage of new technology.

Other Requirements

• Knowledge of cloud services from AWS and Azure.
• Proven understanding of Microsoft networking technology including Domains, Trusts, Active Directory sites, Security, DDNS, IIS, LDAP, DHCP, Kerberos, GPO, DFS, File Shares, and Office 365.
• Working knowledge of computer networking, VLAN, LAN and WAN.
• Enterprise email systems.
• Enterprise backup and recovery systems.
• Firewall, antivirus and network security.
• General understanding of telecommunications theory and voice communications.

Other Standard Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent education and experience
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Must have patience, tact and a cheerful disposition.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and build a good rapport.
