Position Summary

The Superintendent's primary duty is to oversee and manage a CIPP crew at a specific job site and ensure compliance with safety, quality, budget, schedule, and standards with clients. This position will work under the daily direction of the General Superintendent, with guidance and mentoring provided.

. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement an action plan for the job site to ensure daily goals are executed. This includes assessing the job site and performing full inspections to devise a plan of action for the crew.
  • Must execute the plan implementation in order to complete the job assignment.
  • Follow standard operating procedure and allocate duties for the team to fulfill certain tasks.
  • Train employees to become proficient, and qualified in job duties.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and productive work environment.
  • Manage and report daily use of equipment and materials used on the worksite. This function must be performed at the end of each day.
  • Update management with site issues immediately, for example equipment failure, client complaints, limited resources available to complete the job, employee conflict, and all operational issues that must be escalated.
  • Inspect and approve work completed
  • Inventory Management - managing the trailer supplies and materials.
  • The trailer must be stocked with no less of 2 weeks' worth of supplies and materials needed to perform work on jobsites.
  • Daily communication with General Superintendents regarding job specific needs including workforce and equipment requirements.
  • Maintains safe working environment by identifying workplace hazards and taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Responsible for gathering and submitting Heavy Job reporting and submittals, CCTV Submittals, Safety management, Employee training and Equipment and inventory management according to the Company's Daily Operating Procedure.
  • Ensures employees have up-to-date information on safety procedures and policies.
  • Conducts daily Job Hazard Awareness meetings, daily stretching, and weekly Toolbox topics.
  • Complete daily record keeping including daily logs, equipment schedules, material schedules, and timecards.
  • Manages field personnel in fair and equitable manner in accordance with company policies, procedures, as well as compliance with local and federal laws.
  • Addresses staff performance issues as they occur.
  • Provides timely and accurate documentation for reporting safety issues, equipment damage and workplace injuries, according to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all work follows specified quality standards. Inspects field work for quality compliance, materials for quality compliance and review assembly of manufacturer's literature and drawings before work begins.
  • Responds to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Regular participation in training for construction methods and safety. Supports training opportunities for staff.
  • Other projects or duties as assigned by Management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Three years' experience as a Superintendent and/or Foreman overseeing CIPP projects.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, reports, plans, specifications, and legal documents.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel spreadsheets, iPad and iPhone.
  • Ability to communicate and schedule project needs appropriately.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and employees, external vendors and other business associates. Speaks effectively before groups as well as individuals. Must have good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages ratios, and proportions to practical field quantity situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must possess the ability to satisfactorily perform each essential duty and responsibility.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • CDL A or B.
  • CPR & First Aid Certification

    • Valid unrestricted Driver's License and ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Position requires 8 to 12-hour workdays and occasional weekends, as needed. Must be flexible regarding work hours. Shift normally starts at 6:30am and goes until the work is done for the day. May be required to work nights at times.
    • Position requires 75-100% travel within the states of Florida/Georgia and southeast U.S. (Hotels and per diem provided.)

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly, up to 75 pounds occasionally, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Often required to sit, stand, walk, bend knees, stretch arms, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to stoop or kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Able to work extended hours (up to 12 per day) during peak periods.

Supervisor Responsibility

  • Site crew (5-6 CIPP technicians and equipment technicians).
Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those employees encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. Employee is exposed to environmental conditions, working near machines and loud noises associated with construction sites. Exposed to variable weather conditions including rain, snow, wind, cold and heat. Also exposed to variable terrain.
