Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Produce Buyer to join our team. As a Produce Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement, logistics, and sales of produce items. Your role will involve coordinating with suppliers, negotiating prices, and ensuring the availability of fresh and high-quality produce for our customers. This is a vital position that contributes to the success of our business.

Responsibilities:

• Category buyer for conventional for dry and wet veg
• Responsible for inventory management
• Bring a network of outlets to work with to move inventory when markets are long
• Extensive relationship with grower and shipper nationally (ie: Nogales, Pharr TX, Baja, Nor Cal, etc)
• Customer relations with foodservice, wholesale, retail, and independents
• Knowledge of logistics and transportation is a plus
• Understanding of accounting practices to close open lots and repacking charges
• Be able to work closely with the team and cross functionally such as production, shipping, and receiving
• Agriculture Experience a MUST

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems and production planning processes
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from suppliers
- Ability to effectively procure produce items from various sources while considering quality, cost, and availability
- Proficient in logistics management to ensure timely delivery of produce items
- Strong analytical skills to analyze market trends, pricing strategies, and sales data
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory management and quality control
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with suppliers, sales team, and other stakeholders

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $66,560.00 - $70,000.00 per year
