- Developing detailed mechanical designs including such aspects as heating, ventilation and air conditioning; plumbing and other miscellaneous mechanical processes.
- Assist in completing mechanical design for our projects by working with the assigned staff, other offices, Project Managers and other electrical/mechanical engineers.
- Responsible for the selection of equipment to be used to satisfy the scope of the project.
- Provide design calculations, design drawings, project specifications, and construction observations for mechanical work on projects in accordance with applicable codes.
- Ensures that production of drawings, specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements.
- Works with other disciplines to ensure there are no conflicts or interferences between disciplines.
- Reviews and approves design drawings of other employees or offices for an assigned segment of a project.
- Coordinate with field personnel and contractors to resolve problems that arise during construction. Frequently inspects construction projects for compliance with the engineering drawings and specifications.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical engineering
- 5 years of Mechanical engineering design experience
- Experience with AutoCAD drafting software
- Familiarity with process control and electrical systems
- PE in Iowa or ability to obtain within 6 months
While performing all the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
