Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: N/A Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: AHA BLS Certification Experience REQUIRED: 1 year of acute care experience in a patient care related position Experience PREFERRED: 3 years of work experience as a nursing assistant in an acute care setting Education/training REQUIRED: High School Graduate or equivalent Education/training PREFERRED: Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician Program and appropriate certification based on program completed Independent action(s) required: Functions under direction of a licensed independent practitioner, manager and/or RN in providing patient care, emotional: support, and problem solving; all in accordance with hospital, nursing and unit policy/procedure. Requires prior approval or guidance from supervisor for time/schedule changes, legal issues, directed care which deviates from standard, and identifing educational resources to meet developmental needs.
