Title Receiving Clerk

Description Summary / Objective

The receiving clerk position verifies and keeps records on incoming shipments, by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.

Essential Functions

Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.

Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, records damaged items, records

shortages, and corresponds with purchasing to rectify damages and shortages.

Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.

Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.

Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

Required to pass forklift training course provided by employer.

Required to assist in cycle counting and discrepancies.

Help walk-in traffic when needed.

Keep work, warehouses, and storage areas clean and organized.

Inspect forklift daily and keep propane bottles full.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
