Job Position: Engineering Technician II

Job Location: Norfolk, Virginia 

Task Requirements:

• Perform necessary repairs/replacements so that all net and fence assemblies are in the as built configuration.
• Perform inspections of each barrier.
• Inspect the navigation light mountings and repair/replace.
• Perform necessary repairs/replacements to mooring buoys.
• Perform necessary repairs/ replacements including but not limited to: In-situ coating repairs & De-watering and patching flooded pontoons or buoys.
• Assist Lead Engineering Technician.
• Occasional requirements for overtime work in order to meet operational schedules and may have occasional require for extended travel in order to meet operational schedules.
• Upon completing qualifications, will be expected to take on technical lead assignments supporting day-to-day operations, interact with Government and civilian support contractors.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Lead Engineering Technician and/or Program Manager. 

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be a US Citizen 
• Valid Driver License 
• Must be able to perform mechanical maintenance actions and operate a forklift as part of assigned duties.
• Experience in the use of electronic test equipment and operation of various handheld power tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Ability to utilize computer including Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to lift/carry items up to 50 lbs. without assistance. 
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships, professional demeanor, and attitude.
• Must be dependable.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Extensive travel may be required.

Hours to Work: Hours are subject based on the needs of the squadron. 

Job Rate: $22.00/hour
