VCA Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic is looking for an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our General Practice Surgery Department.

Our hospital campus is on nine beautiful acres in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains, set amongst oak trees, a creek and pond and shared with wildlife. We have a supportive and fun team of team board-certified specialists in internal medicine, surgery, critical care, anesthesia, cardiology and radiology; as well as a large team of rock-star ER clinicians and general practice veterinarians who would love to collaborate with you.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide compassionate nursing care for all patients
• Completing treatments for outpatient or hospitalized patients
• Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
• Assisting veterinarians with surgical procedures and monitoring anesthesia
• Triaging and stabilizing incoming emergency patients
• Participate in client communication and education, explaining administration of medications, follow-up care, diet recommendations and general animal care

VCA Animal Hospital offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance. 401(k) retirement plan, pet care discounts, paid vacation, holidays and sick days, and health and well-being programs that provide resources and training. Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The pay range for this position is $17.50 to $26.00 per hour.
