VCA Inc. is Hiring a Kennel technician Near Beaverton, OR
We are looking for a Kennel / Technician Assistant. This position is responsible for the cleanliness of the hospital and enjoying cleaning is a must.
As a Fear Free certified hospital we are looking for an individual as passionate about the cause as we are. We are looking for someone that can work 16-25 hours per week.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Animal care background is desirable, but not required.
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Cleaning and stocking the hospital is a big part of the job. Must love to clean.
- Genuinely enjoys working with animals and is able to deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain.
- Can work unaffected in an environment where dogs are barking.
- Must be available to work some weekends and holidays to be considered for an animal care attendant position.
- Physical Effort : Work requires lifting and carrying animals and food bags (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 50 lbs).
Walks or stands for extended periods or time; frequently works in a bent position.
- Has a strong work ethic and is always looking for the next project to ensure the care of the animals is always seen to.
- Working conditions : May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases.
