Job Description
Global Director - Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) - Chicago, IL or Oakbrook, IL
Role:
The Global IMC Director will lead the Marketing Communication Planning process, content planning development and activation of paid media plans, driving high-quality output that meets business objectives. Reporting to the VP of Global Marketing Excellence, the Global IMC Director will closely collaborate with the leaders of digital transformation, customer experience and market and consumer insights. He/she will also work cross-functionally with key Marketing business stakeholders, corporate communications and external agency partners across all regions and ADM-branded B2B businesses.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in leadership, with a hands-on approach to educating and managing direct reports and cross-functional teams. You are an excellent communicator who can gather information from multiple stakeholders to create a shared vision that supports our organizational goals. You are a self-starter with the ability to pivot between leading the strategy and driving activation of integrated marketing plans. You balance analytical skills with a creative mindset. We are looking for a well-rounded team player who can lead projects, nurturing internal talent as they go.
Responsibilities include:
  • Spearhead integrated marketing communication transformation within ADM across functions
  • Lead a team of five direct reports in the development and execution of integrated marketing plans, including creative content, paid media, website content, sales enablement materials and project management
  • Drive cross-discipline integration and collaboration among key stakeholders (Marketing, Marketing Excellence, Corporate Communications, external agency partners) to develop and execute ADM's marketing and communication strategy across 15 business units
  • Manage agency partner relationship by developing scopes of work, evaluating agency performance and ensuring resources and staffing plans support ADM's business needs. Work with agency leadership to inspire trust, drive clarity and empower innovative thinking
  • Develop, lead and optimize IMC planning approach, ensuring process is clear, comprehensive and effective for all internal contributors and agency partners
  • Partner with external agency to develop and gain alignment of holistic content strategy that maximizes reach and minimizes overlap of audience and message
  • Collaborate with Marketers and agency to develop data-driven target audience plan, full-funnel media strategies and media plans across all channels including global B2B publications, paid social, programmatic and other emerging platforms
  • Monitor and report on key campaign performance metrics, providing actionable insights and recommendations to optimize return on investment and inform future strategies
  • Manage internal agency team of three (Traffic Manager, Content Developer, Designer)
  • Establish and execute a strategy to codify and scale content development best practices globally
  • Drive a test-and-learn approach to media effectiveness, working actively to build new and leverage existing capabilities. Establish and oversee external media publisher relationships to identify innovative and industry-leading partnerships
  • Lead a talented team of marketing excellence professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and strategic direction to achieve departmental goals
  • Develop and manage overall integrated marketing budget, including quarterly budget reconciliation
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies, evaluating their potential impact on our business and recommending strategic investments
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field; MBA is preferred.
  • 15 years of experience developing results-driven marketing plans for a global organization
  • 10 years in working with and/or managing an agency partner, including developing scope of work agreements, budget management, agency relations and overseeing full-funnel activation
  • Experience in working with a global team is important, prior experience in B2B is required; prior experience in the food and beverage industry is a plus
  • Proven ability to build relationships, collaborate effectively and lead by influence at varying levels of the organization
  • Strong leadership: ability to inspire, motivate and guide stakeholders to a common goal and vision. Experience in leading a blended team of internal, external, and cross-functional counterparts
  • Superior strategic thinking, problem solving and innovative mindset, with a drive for results
  • Excellent educational and communication skills to train and empower stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and convert strategy into plans, process and actions that drive growth
  • Models resiliency in a dynamic, fast paced work environment. Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments related to the role
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leaders and coaching and developing talents within the team
