Location: Germantown, TN

Hiring immediately for an experienced, full time surgery scheduler. Position involves managing and scheduling ultrasounds, procedures, follow-up visits, etc. The position requires the ability to work closely with the surgeon on a daily basis while serving as an asset to a multi-functional team of clinical and non-clinical staff.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Effectively schedules and manages procedures or surgeries, ultrasounds, follow-up visits, etc.
• Serves as a liaison between the surgeon, physician offices, hospitals, and physician staff related to surgical procedures.
• Establishes good rapport with the physician and/or office personnel.
• Follows appropriate lines of communication.
• Updates patient demographics including insurance information at the time the appointment is made.
• Performs various administrative functions within the department.
• Demonstrates professional work behavior and excellent customer service routinely in all interactions.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
• Does not release restricted information that compromises patient and staff confidentiality.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Medical terminology preferred.
• Ability to plan and schedule tasks and to maintain control of own workflow.
• General PC skills
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills to effectively and cordially communicate with a range of highly skilled medical professionals, patients and visitors.
• Requires attention to detail and ability to think through routine to moderately complex situations
• Ability to speak concisely and clearly and communicate effectively with the public and co-workers.

Must maintain confidentiality of personal and sensitive data.

Experience:

• Prefer one to two years of hospital (medical field) experience with knowledge of medical and surgical terminology.
