Assists Head Mechanic with routine equipment maintenance and repairs of the machinery and equipment used for golf course maintenance. Also performs golf course maintenance and construction project work.
Monday through Thursday - 5:00am - 1:30pm, Fridays 5:00am - 10:00am and every other weekend (both Saturdays and Sundays) for approximately 4 hours - 5:00am - 8:30am.
During Summer: Monday through Thursday - 6:00am - 2:30pm, Fridays - 6:00am - 11:00am.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS USED
Power vehicles and mowers, electric and fuel power tools, hand tools, specialized golf course equipment, grinders, drills, welding equipment, safety equipment, chemicals, grease, oil, paints, solvents, radios, telephones, general office equipment, supplies, and motor vehicles.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of six months of mechanical training or similar field experience; or an equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education. Bilingual: English and Spanish a plus.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Small Engine Repair, wiring and trouble shooting. Ability to assist with repair, servicing and operating of all golf course equipment and machines. Auto Repair is a plus.
Required knowledge of procedures, safety rules, tools, methods, and materials used for golf course maintenance.
Follow written and oral instructions, follow safety rules, maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and customers, and assist in completing reports and forms as required.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid State Driver's License

The position requires work performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. Exposure to variable and adverse weather conditions. Exposure to loud noises, vibrations, fumes, airborne particles, grease, oil, and chemicals. Active, physical work involving heavy lifting ( 50) pounds, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, walking long distances, driving and operating equipment for extended periods of time. Requires focus adjustment, depth perception, clear close and distant vision. Use of ear protection, eye protection and other safety equipment. Light public contact.
