Location : 2525 Midpoint Dr, Edwardsville, KS 66111

Hours :

1ST 6AM-2PM, M-F $17.55 per hour

2ND 2PM-10PM, M-F $17.55 per hour Shift Differential

3RD 10PM-6AM, M-F $17.55 per hour Shift Differential

YOUR OPPORTUNTY :

As a member of the Varsity Yearbook Kansas City Yearbook team, the General Laborer will be responsible for assisting in basic press and bindery operations to help maintain quality at minimum spoilage.

• Locates and loads paper in presses.
• Brings plate carts to press room and files plates in the appropriate racks.
• Takes jobs to the press.
• Locates and pulls plates for the jobs at press.
• Mixes fountain solutions and keeps tanks full.
• Keeps the chemical cans and bottles at press full
• Maintains responsibility for the proper storage in and housekeeping of the chemical storage room.
• Brings press supplies to the Press Operator as needed.
• Washes up the presses in the absence of the Press Operator.
• Operates the forklift, power jack and hand jacks.
• Maintains responsibility for the general housekeeping of the press room.
• Assists the Press Operator in any needed job functions on the presses
• Box books with same amount on each side.
• Add total books and take information to shipping clerk.
• Use hand jack to move order.
• Put away or pull bundles.
• Feed machines with book parts.
• Stack books or book parts that have been completed by machines.
• Perform handwork.
• Inspect books.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE :

• High school Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 1-3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing or warehouse environment
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds throughout the day
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work all hours needed including overtime
• Ability to operate a hand jack and fork lift preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to and / or frequently exposed to :

• Stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• Talk and hear
• Occasionally required to climb or balance
• Regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 90 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
