As a Software Engineer, you will meet with experts and end-users and determine novel approaches to each facet of development, from database to user interface. You’ll be exposed to numerous challenges as part of a small, but growing team, that defines and implements the next generation software solutions for Varian in the areas of imaging informatics, collaboration, cloud, and analytics. The position requires a broad background in computer science, the application of many different programming languages, a complete set of programming skills, intellectual flexibility, and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities Develop new products, features, and applications for imaging informatics in cancer therapy. Develop Industrial Internet type solutions on a variety of technologies and Platforms. Develop image processing algorithms and applications. Build systems and tools to test performance and qualify 3rd party components. Full stack development, write server- and client-side code. Collaborate with teams like UX , Product Management and Dev Ops to implement requirements and solutions This position is based in the Greater Atlanta area Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) and 5 years of related experience or Masters Degree with 3 years of related experience Professional experience with an Object Oriented Programming Language Skilled in communicating and collaborating within a team Preferred Qualifications MA/MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent work experience). Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures. Strong understanding of object-oriented design and development. Strong C skills preferred, or experience in other systems and/or object-oriented programming language Background in Cyber Security risk assessment and solutions Fighting cancer calls for big ideas.
