JOB CLASSIFICATION

Full / Part-time: Full-time

Hours Per Week: 40

Location: 45 NE Loop 410, Suite 500 San Antonio, TX 78216

 This individual is responsible for a broad range of functions within the Special Assets Group and consequently must have a diverse skill set ranging from accounting / finance fundamentals to refined organization and multi-tasking capabilities, and strong written and verbal communication skills. This person will be responsible and accountable for duties that are imperative to the success of the department, while also acquiring the depth of knowledge necessary in this specialized field. This person will partner with the department Director in support of various responsibilities and often, this person will be the liaison to other bank departments, customers, attorneys, etc., and shall at all times conduct themselves in a professional manner. This person must have the ability to evaluate situations, exhibit critical thinking and offer suggestions for solutions. It is expected that this person will be equally knowledgeable of compliance requirements, both regulatory and bank policy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

This person will partner with the department Director in support of various responsibilities including but not limited to:

1. Distressed mortgage loans requiring financial/credit analysis to identify rehab or exit strategy and to execute on the strategy until completion.

2. The onboarding of new problem loans, including financial and collateral analysis, loan document review, research and other related tasks.

3. Assist in the preparation, review, and approvals for Impairment Analysis, Risk Rating Changes, Charge-Offs, loan coding, and more.

4. Assist the Director with credit policy revisions and updates; and other periodic assignments.

5. Work closely with management and be the liaison to other bank departments, customers, attorneys, etc. 

6. Be knowledgeable of bank policies and procedures and the interrelations of SAG with other bank departments.

7. Acquire a strong working knowledge of the department responsibilities and related significance of its role in minimizing losses and maximizing recoveries for the Bank.

8. At all times, be knowledgeable and compliant with the Bank’s credit policy.

9. Develop a strong working knowledge of loan documentation and the key ingredients relied upon by SAG.

10. Develop a strong knowledge of regulatory compliance affecting SAG, particularly related to mortgage loans.

11. Implement attention to detail for managing responsibilities that are critical to the department, particularly contractual, regulatory, policy or management driven.

12. Set priorities daily for carrying out actions necessary for meeting deadlines, responding timely to unexpected events and recognizing when those priorities won't be met.

13. Be accurate and timely when producing and communicating work product.

14. Verbal and written communications must be clear, complete and accurate.

15. Exercise timely, well-organized practices for document retention.

16. Develop a strong working knowledge of the specific SAG requirements related to Navigator. 

17. Acquire subject matter knowledge to grow their position within SAG, while increasing their ability to support the Director and senior SAG Officers in complex and technical matters.

Requirements

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

· Bachelor's degree (BBA) or equivalent from a four-year college or university; preferably with 6 hours or more in Accounting and Finance. Each.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Advanced math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions and percentages; balance accounts; add subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.

· Understanding of real estate terminology, finance, contracts and management.

· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and generally adept in computer skills.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
