Vantage Airport Group is Hiring an Operational Readiness and Transition Specialist, JMP (Term role) Near New York, NY

Vantage’s latest airport terminal project is the $4.2B development of a new world class international Terminal 6 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), now underway. The Vantage-led team at JFK Millennium Partners is developing Terminal 6 in two phases, with the first gates opening in 2026 and construction completion in 2028. This new, 1.2 million square foot international terminal on the north side of JFK will feel like a boutique luxury hotel, featuring bright and airy check-in and arrivals areas, NYC-inspired shopping, dining and amenities, premium lounges, and generous seating areas. The redevelopment will transform the guest experience at Terminal 6 while offering numerous opportunities for minority, women-owned (MWBE), service-disabled, veteran-owned (SDVOB) and local business enterprises (LBEs).

THE ROLE

The Operational Readiness and Transition (ORAT) Specialist develops communications, prepares plans, and maintains critical ORAT schedules and task lists to support the successful transition from Terminal 7 at JFK to a New Terminal 6. This position will be responsible for pro-actively liaising with all JMP functional areas, broader JMP Project team, JMP Operations, Facilities and other stakeholders on a regular and as needed basis. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and a quick learner with superior organizational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines. The qualified candidate will demonstrate sound business judgment, a high degree of integrity and objectivity and innovation in approaching project challenges. This position will report to the Director, Operations Planning and Implementation who may request support on other duties and responsibilities that are commensurate with the position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in and support planning for Operations Readiness and Transition Program Terminal 7 to Terminal 6 in two primary phases for Terminal Facilities, Agencies (TSA/USCBP), Airlines, Concessionaires, Ground handlers and other airport stakeholders
  • Assist with the development, refinement, and implementation of the ORAT plan as needed, including checklists, simulations, tabletop exercises, trials, and training programs
  • Assess training needs of Stakeholders, in particular work with Commissioning Agent, Baggage System Project Manager and Asset Manager to ensure adequate training hours and materials are prepared and reviewed with Facilities and end users.
  • Coordinate and review training activities with all pertinent and relevant stakeholder groups
  • Coordinate schedule and quality assurance for each training plan and maintain records of training participation
  • Assist in developing Trial Scripts for orientation and familiarization
  • Conduct familiarization tours that cover - facility spaces, functions, and systems
  • Assists in creating, managing and tracking the status or work plans
  • Effectively manage the workflow processes and ensure timely completion
  • Assess trial requirements for all systems, equipment, processes, facilities, and stakeholders, per phase
  • Assist Project closeout administration from the training requirements standpoint
  • Coordinate and track all O&M required submittals
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled project meetings
  • Liaise with the Port Authority and other Authorities Having Jurisdiction as it relates to ORAT activities
  • Other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the position may be assigned

ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum 3 years in Operations, or ORAT coordinator role, preferably in aviation or airport setting or experience in “Change Management” role.
  • Experience working effectively in a regulated environment
  • Demonstrates analytical judgment and decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication combined with critical thinking skills
  • Organization and planning skills crucial for multi-tasking while prioritizing and executing tasks
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and diffuse and manage situations
  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite, in particular Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $110,000 USD.
