JOB TITLE: Emergency Department Manager

REPORTS TO: CNO

POSITION SUMMARY: Demonstrates leadership and organizational skills and time management skills. The Manager will also demonstrate knowledge in the areas of legal and regulatory compliance issues that include, but are not limited to, Title 22, CMS Conditions of Participation, and accreditation agencies. Possesses good problem solving skills and is supportive of staff, coworkers and hospital management. Must be able to make creditable decisions in a timely manner based on the standards of care for patients, staff and families. Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred. BSN/MSN preferred. Possess at least three years of nursing leadership experience in the last five years preferred, with two years in the acute setting preferred. Clinical experience in Emergency Nursing and knowledge of Emergency Medical Services, including pre-hospital care and trauma, is also preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Possess a current California RN license and maintain BLS certification, ACLS certification, PALScertification. Violence Prevention & De-Escalation certification due within 90 days from hire. CEN preferred.
