Concrete, Soils, & Asphalt Technician

We are a Phoenix-based geotechnical engineering firm that conducts course of construction materials testing and observation services (concrete, soils and asphalt) for several market segments such as commercial, industrial, retail, educational facilities, hospitals, churches, custom homes, assisted living care facilities, etc.

We are seeking a full-time concrete, soils, & asphalt technician for the following responsibilities:

· Oversee fill controls

· Soil - perform in-place density tests by nuclear and sand cone method, moisture density (Proctor), sieve analysis, sample soils

· Field/lab proctors

· Concrete - sample, perform air content and slump tests, prepare and test compressive and flexural strength tests, cast mortar and grout test specimens, and prepare cylinders

· Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) - sample and assist in performance of routine HMA tests in field. Field tests include use of nuclear density gauge and core machine

· Fill out associated paperwork timely and accurately

Requirements & Skills:

· High school diploma

· Phoenix City Card (Current ACI & ATTI)

· Minimum three (3) years' experience

· Current ACI & ATTI

· Nuclear gauge certification (Troxler Moisture / Density Nuclear Gauge)

· Clean driving record

· Strong communication skills

· Ability to read civil, architectural, & structural plans

· Ability to lift 75 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions

· Possess good math skills

· Team oriented work-ethic

· Experience with Microsoft Office is a plus (especially Word and Excel)

· Detail oriented and possess great organization skills

Benefits & Compensation:

· Hourly $24.00 - $26.00 depending upon experience
