Vanderbilt University is Hiring a Remote Educational Data Analyst-Remote

The Educational Data Analyst position is a 40hr per week full-time role with the Transition Tennessee project at Vanderbilt University. This position involves supporting the audit of Indicator 13 Individualized Education Program (IEP) compliance (Part B APR Indicator 13) and collection of Indicator 14 postschool outcome data (Part B APR Indicator 14) for the state of Tennessee. The position reports directly to the project PI for all tasks. The position start date is not before March 1, 2024. Working hours are flexible and typically occur between 9am and 5pm Monday-Friday. The educational data analyst position is a remote only position. Up to five new persons may be hired for this position. 

About Transition Tennessee (TransitionTN) 

TransitionTN is a state-funded contract from the Tennessee Department of Education. Our mission is to provide resources, training, and technical assistance to schools and districts in order to improve the quality of transition services and outcomes for students with disabilities. Key components of this project include: (a) providing school- and district-level technical assistance around transition; (b) further developing our online portal for transitionrelated resources and training; (c) hosting an annual transition conference; (d) disseminating resources, success stories, and other content through webinars and newsletters; (e) establishing communities of practice on transition across the state; (f) facilitating a statewide transition taskforce; (g) providing trainings around the state at various conferences for different stakeholders. About the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center

TransitionTN is involved in ongoing collaboration with the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service (UCEDD). More information can be found at https://vkc.vumc.org/vkc/ucedd

Duties and Responsibilities 

In collaboration with other team members, the educational data analyst will carry out the following activities: a) assess Indicator 13 IEP compliance, 

  1. develop and deliver virtual trainings on Indicator 14 data collection to LEAs throughout the state, 
  2. in collaboration with local education agencies (LEAs), collect Indicator 14 data (postschool outcome data), 
  3. support the analysis of Indictor 13 and Indicator 14 data for the state, 
  4. assist in the writing of reports to the Tennessee Department of Education (“TDOE”) related to Indicator 13 and Indicator 14 for the annual performance report (APR), 
  5. collaborate with the TransitionTN technical assistance team to support LEAs in meeting Indicator 13 compliance. 

Qualifications

  • Experience with IEPs for transition-aged youth with disabilities (ages 14-22). 
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team. 
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Positive attitude 

Additional Information:  

  • This is a full-time, exempt position (40 hours per week). 
  • This is a remote position. 
  • This position is grant-funded. 
  • Salary is dependent upon education and experience.
