The Clinical Placement Coordinator is part of the Clinical Placement Department at Vanderbilt University and is a key individual contributor responsible for recruiting and retaining clinical placement sites and preceptors for all School of Nursing Programs and curricula. The School of Nursing’ program is dependent on appropriate and timely placements throughout the two-year program. Position will have a high degree of autonomy and be expected to show initiative. Reporting directly to the Assistant Dean for Clinical Placements.
The Clinical Placement Office works collaboratively with faculty, program directors, and students to ensure all students have a productive clinical experience. The Office is responsible for recruiting appropriate clinical placement sites within the greater Middle Tennessee region for specialty-year students. It is also responsible for ensuring all appropriate agreements are in place and all agency requirements are met for distance students’ rotations. This includes negotiating agreements with agencies throughout the United States and occasionally overseas.
