Patient Sitter JOB SUMMARY
The Patient Sitter performs under the supervision of the Registered Nurse on an assigned unit, Charge Nurse, Nurse Director and/or In-house Supervisor. Primary responsibility is to provide patient observation for patients at an increased risk for injury due to physical or cognitive conditions. May assist with limited activities of daily living as needed (i.e. assistance with feeding, hydration, toileting, etc.). Maintains patient safety by accompanying the patient off the unit and maintaining direct contact with the patient in areas where other staff are not in constant attendance (i.e. Radiology). * Organizational Impact: Performs clearly defines tasks and methods described in detail to achieve standardized solutions that impact own performance with regular guidance. * Problem Solving/ Complexity of work: Follows a well established process to solve routine problems where solutions are clearly prescribed. * Breadth of Knowledge: Has basic job knowledge of systems and procedures that are common to own job. * Team Interaction: Individually contributes to the team.
