Job Title: Teacher Development Specialist

Reports To: Principal(s) and Advanced Teaching Roles Coordinator

Duration: eligible for 3 Year Grant

Compensation:

• 10 month position
• Based on state salary scale with a minimum of $60,000
• Salary differential between $5,000-$15,000
• Local supplement of $2,500
• State benefits

Position Overview:

A teacher development specialist will serve as an instructional coach at the school level. The focus of this position will be on providing support to schools in order to enhance teaching and learning in the area of Mathematics. This position may require travel between schools, but will include mileage compensation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute coaching cycles to build capacity in teachers, both in-person and virtually
• Support the planning, implementation, and assessment of effective classroom instruction
• Design and deliver professional development sessions
• Serve on the School Leadership Team
• Align work to school and district goals, frameworks, and resources
• Identify innovative solutions for improving the overall performance of teachers to meet specific goals
• Model effective, high-impact instructional practices
• Analyze and use data to drive and support coaching and instruction
• Meet with the Math Curriculum Specialists at the district level as set by the district
• Attend professional development sessions with the Advanced Teaching Roles Coordinator and others as set by the district
• Attend district professional learning community (PLC) meetings as set by the district
