Vance County Schools is Hiring a High School Men's Soccer Coach VCHS Near Henderson, NC

Job Summary: As the High School Men's Soccer Coach, you will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the men's soccer program at the high school level. This includes organizing practices, developing players' skills and techniques, coordinating game strategies, fostering team cohesion, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all student-athletes. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with a passion for soccer and a commitment to the holistic development of student-athletes.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Management:

Lead, inspire, and motivate student-athletes to achieve their full potential on and off the field.
Develop and implement a comprehensive training program that focuses on skill development, fitness, and tactical understanding.
Organize and conduct team practices, ensuring they are well-structured, engaging, and tailored to the needs of the players.
Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal accountability.

Game Preparation and Strategy:

Develop game plans and strategies that maximize the team's strengths and exploit opponents' weaknesses.
Analyze opponents' tactics and tendencies to inform game preparation and player assignments.
Communicate game plans effectively to players, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
Make in-game adjustments as needed to adapt to changing circumstances and optimize performance.

Player Development:

Provide individualized instruction and feedback to help players develop their technical skills, tactical understanding, and physical conditioning.
Identify and nurture talent within the team, offering opportunities for advancement and growth.
Encourage players to set and pursue personal and team goals, both on and off the field.
Serve as a mentor and role model for student-athletes, promoting character development, integrity, and good sportsmanship.

Program Administration:

Coordinate with school administrators, athletic directors, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with school policies, league regulations, and safety protocols.
Manage team budgets, equipment inventory, and other administrative tasks as necessary.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, keeping them informed of team activities, expectations, and any relevant updates.
Collaborate with other coaches and athletic staff to promote a cohesive and supportive athletic program within the school.

Qualifications:

Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school or club level.
Strong knowledge of soccer rules, strategies, and techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities.
Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.
Valid coaching certifications or willingness to obtain them.
CDL Bus license required

Working Conditions:

The position may require evening and weekend availability for practices, games, and other team activities.
Travel may be necessary for away games and tournaments.
