Vance County School District - NC is Hiring a District Physical Therapist Near Henderson, NC

Physical Therapist

Reports to: Principal/Ex. Director of EC

Supervises: N/A

Term of Employment: 10 months 

Salary: Based on experience and educational attainment

Qualifications:

Graduation from a four year accredited program of physical therapy and two years of experience or a Master’s Degree in physical therapy License as a physical therapist in North Carolina 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Participates in the development, implementation and coordination of a physical therapy program to provide screening, evaluation and treatment of exceptional students.
  • Receives medical directions as to the specific results to be achieved and then exercises discretion in determining the clinical procedure to follow
  • Evaluates students using appropriate tests, clinical observation and supplementary information from other agencies and records
  • Develops individual treatment goals and activities and administers treatment and evaluates it effect
  • Participates in the multi-disciplinary meeting to develop Individual Educational Plans
  • Instructs and monitors educational personnel, community agencies, and parents in the management of the therapy program Coordinates the development and evaluation of a school-wide physical therapy program
  • Participates in documenting material needs, developing policy and preparing budgets
  • Maintains clinical and administrative records in accordance with NC State guidelines and school district policy
  • Provides follow-up instruction for designated school personnel and appropriate family members to ensure on-going program 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Read, comprehend, and prepare various kinds of communication and information including emails, correspondence, reports, articles, spreadsheets, staff development plans, educational forms and data
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; ability to communicate well with school personnel, employees, and central office staff.
  • Demonstrate functional knowledge of computers and all aspects of the Microsoft Office Professional software programs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignment.
  • Comply with confidentiality requirements in local, state and federal policies and statutes. 

Physical Requirements:

  • This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force 
  • Work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger motions 
  • Work occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, etc.
  • Work has standard vision requirements 
  • Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken work; hearing is 

required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels
