About the Role

As an Elementary School Spanish Teacher at Van Avery Prep, you will play a crucial role in our students’ linguistic and cultural education. You will provide dynamic language instruction and provide a foundation of vocabulary, grammar, and cultural appreciation that students will build upon in later grades. We aim to not only teach language skills, but also instill a deep appreciation for Spanish-speaking cultures.

Responsibilities Include:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective Spanish lessons
• Foster an environment of curiosity, enthusiasm and respect for Spanish-speaking cultures
• Collaborate with other faculty and staff to integrate Spanish language learning across academic disciplines
• Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians about students’ progress
• Create and maintain a well-organized classroom environment that encourages active learning and participation

What We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or related field from an accredited college or university
• Prior teaching experience in Spanish language instruction is highly preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to pass both state and federal background checks
