Van-Am Tool & Engineering is a custom manufacturer in St. Joseph, MO. As we continue to grow, we are seeking dedicated and skilled CDL Drivers - Materials Handlers to join our team.

As a CDL Driver - Material Handler, you will play a critical role in our supply chain and logistics operations. You will be responsible for efficiently and safely transporting materials, equipment, and products to various locations, while also assisting with material handling and inventory management tasks within our facility. This role requires a strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Four Day Work Week: 5:00AM - 3:30PM, M-Th or Tu-F

CDL Driver - Material Handler Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate and maintain commercial vehicles, including adherence to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Transport materials and products to and from designated locations promptly and efficiently.
• Load and unload materials from vehicles, ensuring proper handling and secure transportation.
• Inspect vehicles before and after trips, performing basic maintenance checks and reporting any issues.
• Assist with material handling tasks, including organizing, labeling, and maintaining inventory.
• Complete necessary paperwork and documentation for each trip and material movement.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, and clients to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a culture of safety within the team.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, both within the vehicle and the warehouse.

Qualifications for CDL Driver - Material Handler:

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a CDL driver and materials handler preferred.
• Strong understanding of safe driving practices and regulations.
• Ability to operate various types of vehicles, including trucks and forklifts.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
