*Valvoline Global Operations Headquarters is located in Lexington, KY. We prefer candidates willing to work a hybrid in-office work schedule (3 days per week). This position offers relocation assistance. We are also open to candidates living in nearby markets (i.e. Cincinnati and Louisville), willing to visit frequently.

How Youll Make an Impact

The Senior Manager, of Global Corporate Communications is VGOs chief enterprise communications strategist and tactical leader, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels to all stakeholders, both internal and external. This role is responsible for setting and guiding the strategy for corporate communications, including executive, internal/employee communications, and external communications including but not limited to media, public relations, and some customer communications.

In the role, you would be responsible for:

  • Corporate Communications Leader: Provide strategic counsel and tactical leadership for all multi-faceted communications plans to promote the VGO brand and key business initiatives, both internally and externally. This person must be known as a trusted advisor to and strong collaborator with Valvoline's leadership team, understanding issues facing the organization and its business segments to provide strategic and tactical counsel as plans are developed and shared with the organization.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to the corporate communications team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
    • Review and edit official communications content on behalf of the organization and brand, including executive leadership team.
    • Press releases, speeches, articles, presentations, etc.
  • Internal Communications : Create a multi-faceted insights-driven global platform that informs, engages, and inspires our global team, aligning our business strategies with our culture and business performance. Using a variety of communications vehicles, partner across business channels to advance business outcomes through communications platforms, support change, promote two-way dialogue and connect employees with each other and to Valvoline Global.
    • Manage editorial planning and strategy, driving content ideas to the proper channels, and setting appropriate project timelines.
    • Oversee content compilation of internal communication vehicles, including intranet, e-mail announcements, newsletters, webcasts/podcasts, meetings, presentations, etc.
    • Use surveys, media and online tracking, and other listening techniques to develop a holistic view of how stakeholders feel about company-relevant issues.
    • Direct and oversee internal VGO official events, specifically run-of-show and execution of VGO Quarterly Town Halls.
  • External and Executive Communications: Develop and lead VGOs external communications platforms, including media relations, corporate PR, crisis communications, and some customer communications.
    • Manage the corporate communications aspects of valvolineglobal.com.
    • Expand awareness and coverage of VGO as an Aramco affiliate and global supplier of premium branded products and automotive services, aligning external media relations with approved marketing communications.
    • Serve as lead Corporate Communications spokesperson, also providing counsel and oversite to potential spokespeople/marketing leaders in other countries and regions.
    • Develop crisis communication plans and protocols to effectively manage and respond to potential reputational risks.
    • Create and execute an external communications plan for CEO and other C-Suite members
  • Advance Company Culture : Work closely with the Chief People and Communications Officer, Global HR Team, and company leaders to support and activate campaigns that reinforce the company's strategic plan, to leverage talent and culture as a competitive advantage.
    • Partner with Global HR on Corporate Giving/Community Relations to ensure vision and execution of community events, etc. are showcased appropriately though VGO internal/external communications.
  • Budget Management & Planning: Manage the Corporate Communications BE Budget.

What Youll Need

  • BS/BS in Journalism, Communications, PR or related area of study.

  • Minimum of 8-10 years experience in managing corporate communications.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with the highest executives and across the organization, well known as a trusted advisor.

  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, business partnering and verbal skills, ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels, everywhere in the company.

  • Great track record as an implementor who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently.

  • Relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to manage by influence.

  • Experience translating business strategy into meaningful, engaging communications meet business objectives, support the company's growth, and drive quantifiable results.

  • High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to service as a unifying force and to position communications discussion at both the strategic and tactical levels.

  • Hands-on experience developing external communications materials (press releases, annual reports, etc.)

  • Experience as company spokesperson and/or media relations

  • Developed business acumen.

  • Resourcefulness, flexibility, and resiliency. Proactive, results-oriented and fun!

  • Comfortable setting and managing budgets.

  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Applications.

  • Knowledge of AP Style.

  • Ability to travel (up to 15% annually).
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
