Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities of the Quality Control Technician:

The position reports to the Corporate Quality Manager and is responsible for performing both routine and project activities while also serving as a resource for matters related to product conformity and customer expectations.

  • Solve flaws in production processes (i.e. product inspection/evaluations, nonconforming product inventory control, operation capabilities, quality processes).
  • Maintain non-conformance and inspection/evaluations.
  • Perform time studies/capability studies.
  • Perform metrology using the following gauges: tape measure, caliper, ring gauge, thread gauge.
  • Upon training completion, perform cleanliness tests on sample hoses to maintain inter-company data on hose cleanliness performance.
  • Audit ISIR Forms/COC.
  • Keep organized with multiple customer demands with the ability to change priorities suddenly, while keeping track of current priorities.
  • Administer company quality policies and procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Support sales and work directly with suppliers to ensure customer demand is met.
  • Travel is required. Minimum expected average travel of one day each week within an approx. 5-hour radius of the primary location.


Qualifications and Personal Attributes of the Quality Control Technician:

  • Associate's Degree or 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with A3, 8D, RCA, DMAIC, PDCA problem solving techniques.
  • Demonstrated understanding of ISO 9001:2015
  • Demonstrated experience working with PPAP / SPC processes. Theory of APQP is also a plus.
  • Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Proficiency of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of flow and control plans and FMEA flow chart
  • Ability to effectively communicate to top management, vendors, customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Solid judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent customer communication.
  • Sense of urgency in fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.


Essential Physical / Mental Requirements of the Quality Control Technician:

  • Interacting with employees, suppliers, or customers to meet position and business requirements.
  • A majority of the time is spent working in an office environment with regular coordination of activities in a production facility.
  • Lifting and/or carrying objects of 20-50 pounds.
  • Using a keyboard to enter, retrieve or transform words or data.
