This is a part-time position, 29 hours weekly. Up to $14.00/hr, commensurate with experience.
POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Wellness Coordinator oversees the daily operations of group exercise classes, active older adult programming, and other Wellness Department responsibilities, as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Manages front-line Wellness group exercise and active older adult programs to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
2.Ensures program activities meet the needs of all stakeholders
3.Under the direction of the Wellness Director, establishes new program activities and expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans; grows and manages referral network for wellness programs
a.Facilitates participant acquisition through recruitment, screening and enrollment of eligible participants
b.Collaborates with Marketing department on design and development of program materials; utilizes templates
c.Consults with Y USA for updated program resources. Monitors industry trends for new programs and ideas. Adheres to all HIPPA standards and policies
f.Schedules and manages Active Older Adult programs and trips
g.Schedules and manages wellness programming workshops
4.Creates and maintains group exercise schedules and wellness applications
5.Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers
a.Reviews and evaluates staff performance
b.Implements strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals
c.Ensures records of staff certifications are current and completed. Develops and trains staff on department policies and procedures
6.Creates and maintains schedules for paid and unpaid wellness programs.
7.Assists in developing new departmental procedures and programs through data gathering, analysis, and evaluation.
8.Assists in creation of and adherence to department budgets and plans.
9.Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
10.Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in programs.
11.Performs other duties as assigned.
1.High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's Degree in wellness, or a related field, preferred.
2.One to two years' experience in programming and group exercise required.
3.One to two years' experience with staff management required.
4.Completion of internal trainings within 45 days of hire required.
5.Ability to work effectively with program volunteers required.
6.Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications; Group Exercise Instructor required.
7.Experience with staff scheduling app or program preferred.
8.Ability to work with integrity, discretion and a professional approach required.
9.Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
