This is not a seasonal position. The Y is seeking long-term staff, looking to work all 12 months of the year.

Availability (2 shifts per week):
Tuesdays 8:30-12:00pm, 7:00-10:00pm
Fridays 7:00-10:00pm
Thursdays 8:30-12:00pm
Every other Saturday 6:45-10:30am

Up to 29 hours per week.

This position also includes a mandatory rotation for weekend on-call and participating in quarterly Deep Cleaning sessions of the Wellness Center. Subbing is required as needed.

Essential Functions:
1. Greet and engage facility users. Maintain high-visibility in the Wellness Center area; conduct periodic walk-throughs.
2. Enforce Wellness Center policies.
3. Provide equipment orientation and timely follow-up.
4. Ensure cleanliness and safety of environment.
5. Follow emergency procedures and safety precautions. Follow procedures for reporting all accidents, incidents and hazards.
6. Adhere to all policies, rules, and regulations as outlined in employee handbook and other communications. Obtain and maintain required training(s).
7. Accept additional assignments as deemed appropriate, within the scope of the job description.

Position begins at $12/hr. Additional $1 per hour for early morning, closing shifts and Sunday shifts.
Qualifications:
• Experience in the health and fitness field preferred.

Physical Requirements:
• Physical ability and stamina to demonstrate proper exercise form and technique.
• Use of a variety of fitness equipment.
• Physical stamina to perform the duties as outlined above, including but not limited to extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking; bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and carrying no more than 50 pounds.
