Valora Medical Center LLC is Hiring a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy Technician Near Southlake, TX

As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for obtaining blood for laboratory examinations by venipunctures in the phlebotomy room and for all other clinical services offered at the clinic. You will also help as a float Medical Assistant for the providers. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality, and in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of care with specialists and other outside facilities.
  • Assist during medical examinations.
  • Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments.
  • Perform blood draws and prepare specimens for lab.
  • Perform specimen examination and lab orders.
  • Assist with administering immunizations and injectables .
  • Assist with checking medication expiration dates per company Policy and Procedure
  • May be required to perform duties supporting Medical Assistants which includes rooming patients, taking vitals, updating medical records at the need of the clinic.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management to support business needs.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Certified as a Phlebotomist is required
  • 2 year's experience as a Phlebomotist
  • Certified Medical Assistant is highly preferred
  • 2 years’ experience as a medical assistant
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
  • Proficiency in EMR platform E-ClinicalWorks (eCW) is a plus
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office management systems and procedures is strongly recommended
  • Great time management and organization skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Social perceptiveness and service-oriented
  • Innovative, motivated, and team player
  • Ability to establish working relationships, resolve interpersonal conflicts, and apply basic staff etiquette in dealing with others.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Must possess close attention to detail
