Job Opening: Athletic Director

Valor Christian School is a K-12 Christian School that is part of a global network committed to offering Christian education around the world. We have campuses in Beaverton Oregon, and Seoul South Korea, as well as partner schools in Tanaka Village Philippines, Haiti, Guatemala, and Kenya. The Valor Beaverton Campus seeks a skilled, professional, and culturally competent individual to run and develop our Valor Knights Athletic Program. This position will organize and run our K-12 athletic program following VCSI standards and methods. They will promote Christ-like character in athletics while also seeking to better and grow ourselves. In addition to the qualifications detailed below, the successful candidate possesses the ability to grow and develop as a professional and to support the VCSI educational mission. This is a full-time, academic-year position that starts in August 2024.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA/BS
• Experience in athletics and running an athletics program
• Experience with Global Perspectives
• Intercultural competence, ability to interact and teach appropriately with a diverse array of students, coworkers, family members
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

· Lead utilizing the latest research, best practices, and standards

• Openness to innovation, willingness to learn, ability to integrate biblical and global competence into athletics
• Interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate, work effectively on teams and maintain collegial relations with colleagues along with written and verbal communication skills, ability to convey complex information about students to families in an appropriate and sensitive manner
• Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
• Willingness to teach PE as needed when appropriate

Job Type: Full-time

· Salary Range: $40,000 - $55,000 annually

· Health Insurance and Disability insurance

· All full-time staff receive tuition remission for their children.
