ROLE DESCRIPTION
Academics Administrative Support and Testing Coordinator
ROLE SUMMARY
The Academic Administrative Support role is designed to support the mission and day-to-day functions of Valor Academics. This individual will work closely with the Academic Coordinator, Academics team, students, parents, teachers, and staff. Demonstrating a strong proficiency in communication, administration, organization, and test and event planning this role will daily make positive contributions to a strong, joyful, cooperative team environment. The ideal candidate has strong administrative and communication skills, as well as a passion for supporting student outcomes. He or she will work closely with the Academic team to meet the vision of preparing tomorrow’s leaders for Christ.

Provide Communication and Event/Testing Coordination
  • Collaborate with various departments to create promotional and informational communication for academic programming and events, including the development of newsletter content, marketing materials, and event registration
  • Assist in managing the Academic Trip process by reviewing faculty requests, providing feedback, generating Magnus forms, and creating travel books
  • Provide event support STEM Night, Business Night, Humanities Night, and Academic Awards Night
  • Create promotional materials, programs, PowerPoint, and certificates for Endorsement nights
  • Coordinate planning for PSAT, PACT, Course Placement Testing, AP, and Final exams to include scheduling, room assignments (particularly for accommodations needs), IT coordination, and parent/student communication
  • Conduct faculty and staff training
Support Administrative Functions of Academics Team
  • Support the Academic Coordinator as needed with projects and coordination needs
  • Generate academic reports (e.g., student roster information for assigning final exam classrooms and proctors, practicum and summer school registration reports)
  • Shadow Registrar to learn Veracross functions and Academics Coordinator and be available to assist with any tasks needed in the absence of their absence
  • Update Valor website with academic updates including Practicum, Summer School, Summer Reading Assignments, etc.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Proficiency in Google sheets and Google drive functions
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Canva
  • Excellent in verbal and written communication skills and customer service
  • Self-motivated, team player
  • 3-5 years in an administrative position preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The same basic physical demands described here are the same for all employees to successfully perform the essential functions of their jobs. Employees must periodically lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and could occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral/depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics are varied and include classroom, office, and outdoor events while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is also varied.
POSITION TYPE: C: Year-round schedule. 12-Month Calendar. This position offices in-person, on campus.
HOURS PER WEEK: Non-Exempt, Part-Time (25 hours per week)
SUPERVISOR: Academic Coordinator
PAY RANGE: $20-22/hour
START DATE: June 3, 2024
