How you will contribute Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Plasma Drill Operator position in the Global Utility Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will set up and operate the Plasma Drill. Additionally, you will… * Be familiar with NC controls and data entry * Download programs and enter into the system * Be responsible for keeping the machine clean and performing operator preventative maintenance as needed * Work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on-time product without manufacturing errors * Perform other duties as directed by leaders and management * Participate in department safety, demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures What it takes Required Qualifications * A minimum of 2-3 years experience in a heavy manufacturing environment * Ability to operate overhead cranes * Ability to read blueprint drawings, read measuring tapes and determine angles on a shaft * A thorough knowledge of welding procedures and practices are essential to ensure the quality of the product. This will include the ability to calculate formulas using basic mathematics, standard U.S. and Metric Measurements * Knowledge of Valmont’s quality procedures, standards, and practices and will be aware of Valmont’s environmental policies * At the end of 90 calendar days the candidate must be able to maintain an acceptable level of production, quality and attendance as determined by management Highly qualified candidates will also possess: * High School Diploma or equivalent * One year previous experience setting up and running a Plasma Drill * One year of previous experience with overhead crane operations * One year of previous experience with welding procedures and practices * A high awareness for safety at all times #UT (Utility) Benefits Valmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family’s overall wellness needs are met.
