Job Title: General Shop Help

How you will contribute

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the General Shop Help position in Mendota Heights, Minnesota Coatings Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual who will prepare products and materials for the painting process. Additionally, you will…

Be able to work in multiple areas
Be able to do simple operations after training, racking, and un-racking of parts, set up and remove fixtures and/or hooks from the conveyor line.
Show interest in improvement and advancement
Count parts, some basic masking, determine flaws, scratches, and rejects on raw parts(100%check)
Assist in general plant clean up and housekeeping
Work safely, protecting self and others from accident and injury

What it takes

Required Qualifications

The ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
The ability to communicate problems or needs to departmental supervision
The ability to lift to 50 pounds from ground to shoulder height or higher
Must be physically able to stand for long periods of time (length of shift) in open air environment; wear PPE; maintain a safe work environment
Must have a high awareness of safety at all times
Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
This position is considered a safety-sensitive position and as such is subject to the provisions of Valmont's Random Drug Screening policy.
