Under the guidance and direction of the Director of Nursing of BH, the BH Manager Chaplain administers, supervises, and coordinates the overall services of staff and volunteer chaplains of the chaplaincy department within Behavioral health.

Annual Salary Range: $68,307.20 - $100,755.20

Qualifications

Education:

Requires a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Theology and successful completion of a reputable hospital Chaplains’ training course.
Preferably a Master’s in Pastoral Studies (MPS)
Preferably an MDIV in Pastoral Theology or Counseling

Experience:

Requires prior experience as a chaplain in a hospital or hospice setting.
Prefer three to five (3-5) years of administrative experience.

Specialized Training:

Behavioral Health Areas: Requires Crisis Prevention Intervention training.

Certification/Licensure:

Prefers a Nationally recognized organization such as the NACC - National Association of Catholic Chaplains or ACPE – Association of Clinical Pastoral Education.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must have a solid standing within his or her denomination, as evidenced by ecclesiastical endorsement.
Demonstrable value was placed on the importance of working as a team both within and outside the department.
Ability to be assertive yet flexible.
Ability to exercise the authority of the position while knowing how to delegate.
Must be in good physical and emotional health.
Ability and stamina to minister to patients/residents/clients with varying physical and mental dysfunctions.
Flexibility in work hours, programs, and services.
Ability and desire to work with clergy and volunteers of varying faith backgrounds.
Experience in working as part of a team; good communication skills.
