Valley Health System (VHS) in affiliation with the Icahn School of Medicineat Mount Sinai (ISMMS) is actively recruiting an InternalMedicine Residency Clinic Medical Director for the newly accredited Internal MedicineResidency Program. This position presents the opportunity to collaborate withthe Program Director, Associate Program Director and the GME team to design, developand operate a new training program to begin in July 2024. The incumbent will also be theclinic director for the IM continuity clinic. In addition to excellent clinical andleadership skills, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record ofacademic excellence and be knowledgeable of ACGME policies and procedures.

Position Summary:
This positionpresents the opportunity to design, develop and operate a new training programas well as maintain a clinical practice at VHS. Assists the PD and APD/DAC to developand execute a successful Residency Program Curriculum (the APD may chair theProgram’s Curriculum Committee) and/or Clinical Competency Committee (CCC).Assists theAPD/DAC in the educational and administrative tasks related to the OutpatientCenter. Provides the vision and leadership to guide the inception ofresident Ambulatory Care services with integrated resident Ambulatory education. TheDirector position will have primary responsibility for the delivery of clinicalservices including clinical cost management, utilization, quality assurance,evidence-based medicine initiatives, medical protocol development, andsystem-based practice initiatives. Develops an integrated team approach to Ambulatory care. Participates indevelopment and review of outcome data to measure impact of Ambulatory Careservices. Design, Reviews, and revises policies related to the clinic practiceand Ambulatory Care. Meets regularly with each provider to discuss job relatedissues, performance, and progress towards achieving established goals andobjectives. Mentors and supports other providers in the clinic. In addition to excellent clinical andleadership skills, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record ofacademic excellence and be knowledgeable of ACGME policies and procedures.
