Valley View Hospital is seeking a full-time Linen Aide who has a great work ethic, a positive attitude and is able to work independently. This position will work 40 hours per week, day shift with rotating weekends. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is helpful. Laundry experience is preferred, but not required.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

• Provides linen support services to patient care areas of the hospital.
• Processes soiled linen per quality standards.
• Processes, stores and distributes clean linen per quality standards.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Picks up soiled linen daily and as needed.
• Follows infection control procedures when handling soiled linen, including use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as gloves, goggles, masks, and gowns, when appropriate.
• Sorts soiled linen by type of article.
• Loads washers to provide continuous flow of linens through the wash/dry/fold process.
• Processes clean linen for drying and ironing.
• Loads dryers to provide continuous flow of linens.
• Processes linens through the ironer/folder and towel folder.
• Hand folds linens.
• Stores linen per guidelines.
• Stocks linen in designated carts/linen storages.
• Maintains record of linen processed.
• Participates in daily cleaning and maintenance of the department and equipment.

SALARY:

• Entry wage dependent upon skillset and experience
• Starting wage: $20.00/hour
