Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. The Medical Biller will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures, ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies, and maintaining patient records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical coding systems, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Duties:

- Review and analyze medical records to accurately assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-9, ICD-10, and other coding systems

- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for medical services

- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail

- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, identifying and resolving billing discrepancies

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including demographic information, insurance details, and billing history

- Answer patient inquiries regarding billing statements or insurance coverage

- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation of medical services rendered

- Stay updated on changes in coding regulations and insurance requirements

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical billing preferred

- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or similar role

- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10), and medical billing procedures

- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and medical billing software

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes

- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies

- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Note: All positions must be paid including internship positions.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
