Valley Springs Youth Ranch is seeking to hire Direct Care Workers for both day and night shifts:

• 8am-10pm (day shift) 14 hour shift option
• 2pm-10pm (day shift) 8 hour shift option
• 10pm-8am (night shift) to supervise the children during sleeping hours and wake them for breakfast and morning hygiene routine.

Under the supervision of the Direct Care Manager and Supervisors, performs the very important role of supervising children ages 6-21 in a residential treatment facility on a daily basis, providing the guidance, direction and structure they need to achieve maturity, adjustment and acceptance of their earlier negative experiences so that they can experience behavior modification and successfully return to a less restrictive environment and family.

Overtime Paid, with weekly opportunity for overtime.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

AWARENESS is key to successfully carrying out all responsibilities.

• supervising children during all daily activities including meals, recreational activities, in the houses during hygiene.
• General Housekeeping-assure that all residents have a clean living environment, and are properly attired for the weather and for special occasions in comfortable clothing which fits and is in reasonably good condition.
• To monitor each child's health and immediately report any medical concerns to the nurse.
• Teach children skills and daily living chores.
• Attend scheduled trainings
• Be a part of a team and be willing to work with others
• Maintain a positive attitude

• Be willing to learn how to deal effectively with the emotional and social problems of children in out-of-home placement.
