Provides physical assessment, case formulation, diagnosis, and treatment planning to clients in the assigned service.
Obtains chief complaints and performs focused exams for routine office visits regarding physical issues
Order diagnostic tests according to chief complaint and physical findings
Prescribes medications according to appropriate medical diagnosis and practice guidelines
Provides education to patients according to their needs
Reviews laboratory reports and makes recommendations if a change in physical care is needed
Provides for referral to community resources and appropriate specialists as needed
Collaborates with and assists primary caregivers to meet the needs of the client
Moves clients through the appropriate treatment with expected outcomes
Prepares the client and family for transfer/discharge
Maintains professional boundaries
Attends teams meeting and staff meetings.
Meets with the assigned supervisor for clinical and administrative supervision
Works well with the staff of other agencies and with colleagues
Effectively works as a member of the treatment team.
Teaches, trains, and/or supervises students as assigned
Retains competencies/privileges as required for this position
Continues professional growth and development through participation in in-service training, professional groups, specialized workshops, and individual study
Carries out duties consistent with program description and task list
